Embracing the Future: How ChatGPT Enhances PR Strategy

The PR industry is constantly evolving, and so are the tools we use. One such tool is ChatGPT, an AI chatbot launched in November 2022. It's designed to assist PR professionals by gathering research, generating ideas, and producing first-draft content. Udemy even provides a course on how PR managers can leverage ChatGPT: ChatGPT to Supercharge Your Public Relations Media Training

In our tests, ChatGPT proved efficient in summarizing large amounts of text like a call recording or news article. It also showed potential in generating creative ideas for press releases and pitches. However, the output still leaves much to be desired and requires manual checking for accuracy and relevance.

The latest version, GPT-4, launched in March 2023, is more advanced. It can handle multiple tasks, solve complex problems, and even accept images as part of a prompt. Despite these advancements, it still requires human oversight. While ChatGPT is a powerful tool, it won't replace PR people any time soon. It lacks the ability to mirror the unique writing style of PR managers, produce non-generic content, and provide up-to-date information.

ChatGPT is a valuable tool for PR professionals, but it's not a replacement for human expertise. If you're in PR and haven't tried it, you defintely should. If you have and its time to upgrade to something more specialized in PR, then try Managr.
